He Lovingly Thinks of Me - What She Said Part 14 - Week 6 Day 3
TODAY'S TREASURE
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.

Today’s Treasure
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.
Psalm 139:17-18 ESV
I remember the first time I saw love with my eyes, held it in my arms, heard its cry, and smelled its wonder. It was the day my eldest niece was born.
After my sister endured a harrowing eighteen hours of labor, she was whisked away for surgery, where this bundle of joy made an appearance into the world. And I will never forget that day.
My niece came adorned with a crown full of brown hair as soft as lamb’s wool that I gently caressed with my fingers. As I held her closely, I inspected every appendage and whispered, “I love you” to her again and again.
I wanted her to know she had an aunt who would love her forever. Thankfully, my sister and her husband allowed me to be the doting aunt I longed to be.
Looking back on that day—and the days following into my niece’s adulthood—I’ve watched her struggle to overcome obstacles and celebrated every accomplishment. And my love for my niece has remained steady.
Each time I think of her—and my other nieces and nephew—my heart dances on the inside. And though it’s nowhere near the extent, this must be a small likeness to the Father’s love for us—His children.
In my finite mind, I cannot come close to understanding God’s love for me. I’ve even doubted it at times—and questioned it when His presence felt hidden in fogs of hardship.
But the words of King David in Psalm 139:17-18 are what I set my mind on: “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.”
God thinks of me—one who is insignificant, unworthy, and incapable of any good thing apart from His help—and this boggles my mind. King David expresses how he’s blown away by the love of God for him—each morning he continuously awakes to the steadfast love of God.
LIFE-GIVING ENCOURAGEMENT
Friend, we have a personal—and conscious—Father who has us on His mind. He never forgets where we are, leaves us alone, or stops working on our behalf.
May your heart rejoice in the fact that your Heavenly Father always has you on His mind and loves you with no end in sight! You are precious to Him. May your heart rest in this truth.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I don’t understand Your great love for me, but I’m grateful for it. Help me to remember, in the good and bad times, that You are always thinking of me with love —and watching over me. Fill me with more love for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
